Ed Fenton bookbinding

In a 40-year career as a writer, I have written music journalism for NME, documentaries for BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4, and the storyline of an opera that received its London premiere at the BBC Proms.

My first novel, Scorched Earth, won the Sinclair Prize for Fiction, judged by a panel of former Booker judges including Fay Weldon and Joanna Lumley.

I used to think that if I had nine lives, in one of them I’d be a bookbinder! I design and produce hand-made books, and welcome commissions. Please get in touch for more info.

Some of my artwork has also been turned into cards and other products by Vif images.

The Four Wordsmen of The Apostrophe

Over the last 10 years I have been collaborating with a group of writers – Adrian Lancini, John Lanyon and Rob Stepney – as The Four Wordsmen of The Apostrophe. We have had two books published – A Funny Way With Words and Words Go Out To Play. We have also performed numerous live shows bringing our poetry to life with the help of musicians Shannon Harris and Alan Fraser and broadcaster Kathy Clugston.
